Spotlight - Autumn from Wear the Wonder

Our main story today is about Autumn Hassett, Chief Maker ofย Wear the Wonder, which is a mother & daughter company that creates personal accessories and home decor items from their own nature-inspired photographic images.
This is a special one because Autumn and I were coworkers. I personally love that itโs locally owned and each piece is made by hand; on top of running a business, sheโs also a mom, which is a full-time job in and of itself.
Autumn, take us from here!
๐ Personal journey
My mom is a long-time photographer. I started working with her when I was little, starting with photographing weddings.
As the photography industry began to change, when people didnโt buy framed art anymore, she pivoted and figured out a way to print photography to jewelry.
I left my steady corporate job to have my son. Both of my parents are entrepreneurs, so I wanted to do something entrepreneurial and gave myself six months to try it out.
I initially was just helping my mom with shipping and website-building; it has since exploded into a full-time job.
I moved all the manufacturing and production to my house, and my mom began to focus on the creative side of things.
I learned to do a lot of things on my own. For example, I learned how to make different jewelry pieces by watching a lot of Youtube videos.
๐ฆ Biggest challenge
The biggest issue for me is time. Iโm a mom, and I create the pieces by hand, which takes a long time.
To solve that challenge, I am very intentional and structured in planning my week to that I can get everything done. For example, I use Trello to manage all of my current, recurring, and longtermย tasks. From there, I utilize a planner as well to make sure I don't miss any retail appointments or important tasks for each day.ย
